- Buffet style, with plenty of opportunity for networking. Knives optional -- eat with one hand, hold your plate in the other, and keep circulating -- or settle at one of the tables.
6:30 - 7:30pm Three perspectives on How can the people and the press help each other?

- For the press: Tracy Record
- And a "shape-shifter", putting a twist on what's possible: Chris Jordan

7:30 - 9:30pm World Café conversation: What’s possible for our region when journalists and the public come together?
- We'll cross-pollenate ideas among our diverse participants to build on the opening comments.
- What is emerging in the regional news ecology and how do I fit?

- Orientation to the northwest media landscape.
- Preliminary insights into journalism's role in civic engagement.
- The result: A foundation for richer conversations between journalists and the public.
Friday, January 8 -- Possibilities Day: Explore/design ideas/projects
Purpose
- To explore a wide range of possibilities at the intersection of journalism and civic engagement
Organizing question
- "What’s possible for our region when journalists and the public come together?"
Structure
- We'll use "open-space technology" to organize our activity. Breakout sessions are hosted by participants on the topics of their choice. How does this structure work?
